After BiH, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia workshop on gender equality for children and young people of age from 7-18 was organized on October 2 in Pristina, Kosovo as well in cooperation with Artpolis – Art and Community Center.
Workshop was attended by a total of 33 children and young people and due to the unforeseen circumstances artist Selma Selman talked to children online, via Zoom platform. Partner’s organization provided translation and logistic assistance.
In the first workshop with children of age from 7-14 was attended 22 children and the group involved mix of communities of Albanians and Roma, Ashkalis and Egyptians. Selma presented to children her artistic and activist work and held interactive presentation on gender equality. Workshop was closed with children painting their feelings, their thoughts on gender equality and later on they showed and explained them to trainers via video link. The second workshop gathered about 11 attendees of various ages. The topics of the workshop were concept of gender-sex and gender based violence on internet, gender based discrimination, etc. Workshop was closed with painting whereas trainer showed attendees how to paint auto portraits or any other portraits which represent gender equality and some attendees created mini-panels with slogans regarding gender equality.
