We present to you another very successful paper by a student of the Faculty of Law, Stefan Ivetić, who writes about the application of the engendering constitution concept to the Constitution of the Republic of Srpska, as part of the project “Online Academy for Gender Equality and the EU Integration Process”, which is implemented in cooperation with the Heinrich Böll Foundation.
The constitutionalization of gender equality is a process that is related to the changes that occurred in the field of protection of human rights and freedoms after the second half of the 20th century. Engendering is a process that includes legislation, policy or programs in all areas and at all levels, both for women and men. The author of this paper will try to explain the concept of engendering constitution and the possibility of its application to the Constitution of the Republic of Srpska. It will be pointed out certain obstacles that can arise in the engendering process and an example of how the Constitution of the Republic of Srpska could consistently implement the process.
