Competition
FOR REGIONAL JOURNALICT AWARD “SRĐAN ALEKSIĆ”
The award is announced to journalists and media from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia and Montenegro in three categories:
- for journalistic courage and excellence
- for contribution to the community
- for media
–The Award for Journalistic Courage and Excellence is awarded to a journalist who distinguished himself/herself by thorough, professional and ethical reporting on corruption, consumption of public funds, destruction of natural resources, political manipulations, violence, glorification of war criminals or other topics that are taboo or about which are rarely or unilaterally reported.
– The Award for Contribution to the Community is awarded to a journalist or group of authors for continuous reporting on reconciliation, inclusion, human right protection, gender equality and rule of law which brought concrete benefits to citizens and/or the communities in which they live.
– The Award for Media is awarded to media from the region which stand out for their responsible editorial policy and support their journalists in their efforts to serve the public interest and protect human rights and freedom of the media.
Journalists and the media can be nominated by associations, informal groups, networks of civil society organizations, media editors, journalists, trade unions, scientific and educational institutions, and university teachers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia and Montenegro.
The deadline for nomination is November 1, 2022.
Journalists and media cannot apply directly to the Competition

For the award in the first two categories for journalists, send from one to a maximum of three recorded shows or texts/articles of the journalist who is being nominated, which meet the criteria for the award in these two categories, and which were published in the period from September 1, 2021 until September 1, 2022.
For the award in the third category, send a link to the media’s website and up to three programs, articles or texts that testify to the fulfillment of the criteria for the award in this category.
Detailed explanations of the criteria for the award in each of the categories and the formats in which nominated contents can be submitted are given in the nomination forms.
The decision on announcing awards in all three categories will be made by an expert jury made up of journalists and media experts from the countries participating in the competition.

Regional Journalist Award “Srđan Aleksić“ will be announced on December 10 in Banja Luka on the occasion of International Human Rights Day
