Government representatives, EU delegations and civil society from candidate countries for EU membership and potential candidates gathered at the 15th meeting of the established EIGE Regional Coordination Platform for Gender Equality Action in the Western Balkans and Turkey. The representative of the Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly, who was in Brussels from May 30 to June 2, also took part in the meeting.
Presentations and discussions focused on bridging gender equality and the green agenda in the region. EIGE also marks the 10+ anniversary of cooperation with countries before joining the EU.
The meeting is organized under the EU Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) and is funded by the Directorate General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR), European Commission.
