In the coming period, on our website www.hcabl.org and Facebook and Instagram pages, follow a series of texts in which we analyze in detail the articles of Directive (EU) 2024/1385 on the suppression of violence against women and domestic violence.
This Directive entered into force in June 2024 and represents a legally binding instrument with which our domestic laws must also be harmonized.
The second text we bring analyzes in detail the sharing of intimate or manipulated material without consent – Article 5 of Directive (EU) 2024/1385 and the criminal legislation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In order to fully comply with Directive (EU) 2024/1385, Bosnia and Herzegovina must improve its legal provisions to comprehensively address all forms of distribution of intimate material without consent. This includes explicitly recognizing the psychological and social harm caused to victims and ensuring mechanisms to quickly remove such content from digital platforms.
Implementation of support systems, such as confidential reporting channels and psychological support, is essential in providing holistic protection to victims.
