On Friday, October 28, 2022 the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen visited BiH and in the context of recent recommendation of the European Commission that Bosnia and Herzegovina gets the status of the candidate. This visit stressed the message that future of BiH is in European Union.
When addressing the political representatives, civil society representatives, business and cultural community, President of the European Commission said: “We gave candidacy status to Ukraine and Moldavia and recognized European perspective of Georgia. There is also a new momentum to bring the European family closer together. And now, Bosnia and Herzegovina is also making strides. Let’s be honest. This seemed impossible a few months ago. And yet, here I am, in Sarajevo, celebrating with you a new page in our shared history. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. And if Bosnia and Herzegovina finds unity around purpose, there is nothing that will stop you”.
Representative of the Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly was also among attendees of the addressing of the President of the European Commission.
