The Civil Society Initiative for UPR BiH (Universal Periodic Review) is a coalition of civil society organizations from all over the country that operate in various areas of promotion and protection of human rights.
The Sarajevo Open Center (SOC) brought together members, Initiative organizations, who jointly submitted recommendations for the 4th cycle of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR).
The members conducted research on the status of recommendations, research on measures and activities required for the implementation of recommendations, the status of implementation of measures and activities of recommendations in BiH from the previous, third report, but also gave recommendations for relevant public institutions.
Considering that the members of the Initiative have been active in the field of protection and promotion of human rights in BiH for many years, in addition to research, the organizations also used information collected during their work with target groups. Since its establishment, this is the second joint application of the Initiative.
Organizations Transparency International Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Banja Luka, otherwise members of the Human Rights House Banja Luka, also participated in this report.
“We thank all organizations for their dedicated work and activities related to the submission of the UPR report during the previous months: Balkan Research Network BiH, Center for Civil Society Promotion, Cure/CURE Foundation, Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Banja Luka, My Right BiH, Sarajevo Open Center, Transparency International Bosnia and Herzegovina and TRIAL International in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, SOC stated.
