“Don’t Judge a Book by its Cover” project started

Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly has started the implementation of the project “Don’t Judge a Book by its Cover”, which aims to use the concept of a human library to build a framework for dialogue among young people that can expose prejudices, counter hate speech against marginalized groups and challenge existing stereotypes and prejudices in inter-ethnic communities in the country, while promoting reconciliation among young people. As part of the project, training for Living Books (young people aged 18-24) will be held, as well as several online and live sessions of the presentation of Living Books in multi-ethnic communities such as Jajce, Mostar, Modriča, Srebrenica and Brčko District. Also, in cooperation with the Buđenje Movement from Tuzla (Cardboard Revolution), an online community @ŽivabibliotekaBiH will be launched, which aims to present positive examples of reconciliation, progress and coexistence in the country.

The project is financially supported by the Embassy of the United States of America in BiH.
