Representative of HCA BL together with partner organization Center for Environment attended the eco-feminist conference in Tuzla. Environmental activists from all across Bosnia and Herzegovina with the support of Freedom Front discussed launching unique eco-feminist platform Ecofem BiH for fight against environmental violence. This was the peak of the activities which lasted for two previous years in pandemic conditions and the first live meeting of the activists involved in this platform. The meeting gathered women as well as men who dedicated significant part of their time and life to care for environment and fight for public resources.
What is unique for this meeting is unification of environmental activism and feminism. Women were those who often initiated fight for Bosnian-Herzegovinian rivers, woods, air and soil and won this fight. In this way they stood out as leaders of their communities and contributed to equality of women in society thereby unifying environmental and feminist goals. Meetings were closed with agreement on continuation of cooperation and support for each other. A the end of the meeting attendees agreed that through environmental fight we actually develop system of care and support for each other and that behind all of us together there are actually many small victories that make up a bigger picture of a successful activist, environmental and feminist fight.
