This year Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly BL also actively cooperates with students who wish to give their contribute to understanding gender equality in different spheres of life with their written papers and analysis’. “Gender Inequality in Labour Relations” is the topic conducted by Miloš Pašalić, student of the Law Faculty in Banja Luka. Activity is part of the project “Academy for Women’s Rights” which is implemented in cooperation with Foundation Heinrich Bӧll. This paper is dealing with the problem of gender inequality in labour relations as well as with the unequal position in the labour market and all in regards with affiliation to one of the genders. In the last few decades the problem of gender inequality occupied an important place at all levels of social organization so due to the importance of this issue many acts have been adopted both at the international and at the national levels. These acts equalize the position of genders in all spheres of life and adopting the same would be enormous step towards erasing inequality between women and men. The emphasis in this paper is on the unequal position of women in the labour relations and in the labour market in general. Though there is normative framework as well as the institutional mechanisms which equalize women and men in rights and obligations, and which at the same time protect them from any form of the discrimination, it is evident that in practice exists different situation and women are a lot more exposed to: inequality, mobbing, sexual harassment and more difficult conditions for employment.
