Lawyer on the European Union project
Field of work: Protection of human rights defenders
Position description:
The Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Banja Luka is looking for a lawyer who will work on the European Union project, which concerns the protection of human rights defenders in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The lawyer will participate in the implementation of the planned project goals, activities and results.
Job tasks:
- Planning, implementation, recording and evaluation of the following project activities:
- Establishing a legal team;
- Establishing a legal assistance line;
- Report, receive, archive, and further process cases reported via the legal assistance line;
- Cooperation with the legal team on specific cases reported through the legal assistance line;
- Establishing and maintaining a database on reported cases of the legal assistance line,
- Initiating changes to existing laws and regulations, commenting on laws and regulations that are currently in procedures, and which concern the protection of human rights defenders according to domestic and foreign institutions;
- Participation in writing reports to the donor;
- Cooperation and coordination with other members of the project team and projects within HCA;
- Other jobs.
The minimum requirements that the candidate must meet are:
- Graduated from the Faculty of Law;
- Two years of work experience in the same or similar jobs;
- Organizational and communication skills and working with different target groups;
- Excellent knowledge of the English language;
- Excellent computer skills.

Engagement:
Full-time, initial work contract for 3 months (probationary work) with the possibility of extension for at least another 19 months.
