Project coordinator on the European Union project

Field of work: Protection of human rights defenders

Position description:

The Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Banja Luka is looking for a project coordinator who will work on the European Union project, which concerns the protection of human rights defenders in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The project coordinator will participate in the implementation of the planned project goals, activities and results.

Job tasks:

  • Planning, implementation, recording and evaluation of the following project activities:
  • Capacity building trainings for the establishment of a Helpline for human rights defenders;
  • Developing the Book of Standards with all procedures and rules;
  • Development of a network of lawyers and legal experts for human rights protection issues, especially for international standards for the protection of human rights defenders;
  • Developing a comprehensive system of monitoring and reporting on human rights violations by activists and journalists, human rights defenders;
  • Developing a methodology and conducting research on reporting on human rights defenders in the media and public context;
  • Organization of trainings for work on the Helpline for human rights defenders, as well as for monitoring and reporting on violations of human rights of human rights defenders;
  • Reporting to domestic and foreign institutions and organizations, networks and initiatives in the field of European Integration and human rights, and holding consultations with other civil society organizations in the field of reporting and advocacy towards domestic and foreign institutions;
  • Writing reports to the donor;
  • Cooperation and coordination with staff and projects within HCA;
  • Other jobs as needed.

The minimum requirements that the candidate must meet are:

  • Graduated from university (advantage given to social sciences)
  • Two years of work experience in the same or similar jobs;
  • Organizational and communication skills and working with different target groups;
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language;
  • Excellent computer skills.

Candidates who make it to the shortlist will be invited to a test and an interview.

Engagement:

Part-time, 20 hours per week, initial work contract for 3 months (probationary work) with the possibility of extension for at least another 19 months and the possibility of full-time engagement.

Start of work: February 1, 2024

Location: Banja Luka
