Today, on May 15, 2024, the representative of the Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Banja Luka at a meeting introduced Tanja Vukomanović, delegate of PDP in the National Assembly of Republic of Srpska, with the campaign “Sexual Extortion is Corruption. Let’s Break the Silence!”, and the results of the Research regarding the Prevalence of Sexual Extortion in Society and the Analysis of Regulations regarding Sexual Extortion (sextortion).
We talked about the fact that not a single law, neither at the state nor at the entity level, has incorporated the concept of sexual extortion.
Sexual extortion is a combination of sexual harassment and corruption, and it always happens from the position of a superior person, someone who has power.
At this meeting, the representative of HCA BL spoke, among other things, about the need to incorporate the term sexual extortion into labour laws, laws on higher education, anti-corruption strategies…
