Presentations of papers on gender equality

Today at the Faculty of Law, two important presentations of papers were held within the framework of discussions on gender equality, which attracted the attention of students and teaching staff.

The first presentation was the paper of Nikola Gašić entitled “Positive and Negative Effects of the Literal Equalization of the Sexes”. In his paper, Gašić focused on gender equality, cultural and biological differences between women and men, the influence of gender equality in the state on the choice of occupations and professions of women and men, and on certain researches that point to the paradoxes of the modern idea of gender equality.

The second presentation belonged to Marija Obradović, who presented her work “Causes of Gender-Based Violence”. Obradović explored various factors that contribute to this form of violence, emphasizing the influence of culture, social norms and the educational system, with the aim of providing a deeper understanding of this complex problem and proposing effective strategies for its prevention and elimination. Her paper opened up space for an important discussion about ways to prevent and raise awareness of the problem of gender-based violence in our communities.

Both presentations provoked an active discussion among students, who had the opportunity to ask questions and exchange opinions on the topics covered. These activities contribute to strengthening critical thinking and making students aware of the importance of gender equality in today’s society.

This activity is supported by the Heinrich Böll Foundation.
