Yesterday, March 1, 2023, representatives of the partner organizations of the Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation had the opportunity, to discuss their work and share the experiences of women in the long-term processes of peace building in BiH with the Swedish delegation, which consisted of the Swedish ambassador to BiH Johanna Strömquist, head of the development program in Sida in BiH Eva Smedberg, Lisa Curman – program manager at the Swedish Embassy, Carin Jämtin, general director of Sida and Lisa Fredriksson, head of the Euro-Latin department.
We discussed the importance of the work of the informal initiatives Women Citizens for Constitutional Reform and Peace with Women’s Face, the beginnings and emergence of women’s movements in BiH, the role of women in the processes of building peace and dealing with the past, the political situation and numerous challenges faced by civil society organizations in BiH.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of informal initiatives – Peace with Women’s Face and Women Citizens for Constitutional Reform, representatives of the “Lara” Foundation from Bijeljina, HO “Horizonti” from Tuzla, the Foundation “United Women” and Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly from Banja Luka.
