The campaign “Sexual Extortion is Corruption. Let’s Break the Silence!” was presented to the members of the Confederation of Trade Unions of the RS

Representatives of the Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Banja Luka met on Saturday, August 2, in Teslić with members of the Confederation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Srpska to whom they presented the campaign “Sexual Extortion is Corruption. Let’s Break the Silence!”.

The meeting discussed possible changes to legal regulations regarding the introduction of sexual extortion and anti-corruption policy and gender policy, as well as internal mechanisms for the protection of companies, especially in the sectors of the textile industry and the footwear industry.

The President of the Textile, Leather and Footwear Union of the Republic of Srpska pointed out that the union recognized the importance of incorporating sexual harassment into legal regulations, which is why they advocated for the adoption of the Law on Protection from Harassment at Work in the Republic of Srpska.

In the coming period, HCA will hold a series of meetings with actors who may be important for advocating that sexual extortion be integrated into the Law on Gender Equality, as well as other gender policies and anti-corruption strategies both at the level of the RS, as well as at the level of FBiH and BiH.
