The fifth in a series of Policy Briefs, prepared by the Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Banja Luka, aims to present the possible integration of sexual extortion into labour laws and laws on protection against harassment at work.
Research on the Prevalence of Sexual Extortion in Society has shown that it occurs in both the public and private sectors, and when asked whether sexual extortion occurs in the workplace, as many as 76% of respondents confirmed that it does.
As the reasons they stated, 16.3% of them were due to promotion at work, 15% due to employment, but there are other reasons as well.
Although sexual extortion is present in the workplace, it is still not integrated into labour laws, which proves to be necessary.
