Advocacy meeting with Mirna Savić-Banjac

As part of the “Citizens in the Fight against Silent Corruption” project, an advocacy meeting was held with a deputy in the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska and deputy of the Club of Delegates of the Party of Democratic Progress of NARS, Mirna Savić Banjac, who was presented with the campaign “Sexual Extortion is Corruption. Let’s Break the Silence!” and the possibility of integrating sexual extortion into various legislative acts in the Republic of Srpska.

Particular emphasis was on the Draft Law on Protection against Domestic Violence and Violence against Women of the Republic of Srpska, which needs to be amended in terms of articles 4-6, where sexual extortion would be considered an act of domestic violence, and coercion an act of violence against women, i.e. sexual extortion an act of femicide, in addition to sexual exploitation, human trafficking, sexual violence, etc. Mrs. Savić-Banjac was also presented with proposals for amendments to the Draft Law that was previously sent to all Clubs of Delegates in the NARS.

After the working meeting, a consultation meeting was held with the representative of the Foundation United Women, where joint actions were agreed upon in terms of advocacy towards the actors with whom the Foundation cooperates.
