Call for submissions: Calendar of Events for Week of Women’s Solidarity and Peacebuilding

On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2023 and the Week of Women’s Solidarity and Peacebuilding, the Network for Building Peace, the Women’s Network of BiH, the Initiative Women Citizens for Constitutional Reform and the Agency for Gender Equality of BiH, together with all their members, join forces and organize various events throughout BiH.

In the past years, members of these initiatives, formal and informal networks have organized hundreds of activities throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina on the occasion of International Women’s Day, and we are continuing this practice this year as well.

We speak loudly and clearly about the invisibility and phenomenon of unpaid domestic work, about the right to health care and the necessity of availability of necessary medicines for all women, women’s political participation and the right to participate in every aspect of life, sexual harassment, discrimination, femicide, entrepreneurship and women’s education, maternity benefits and the right to equal pay for work of equal value. We are talking about the invisibility, especially of multiple marginalized groups of women, and we remind of the unequal position of women in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the omission of women in historical, social and political life. We want to make misogynistic and sexist attacks a thing of the past.

The Women’s Network of BiH, the Network for Building Peace, the Agency for Gender Equality of BiH and the Initiative Women Citizens for Constitutional Reform invite all organizations, activists, businesses, schools, and especially local institutions that during the month of March are celebrating March 8 – International Women’s Day and with their activities to provide us with information about their events or initiatives that they organize.

All information will be published in the Calendar of Events on the occasion of the Week of Women’s Solidarity and Peacebuilding – a special calendar published on the website of the Network for Building Peace and the Women’s Network of BiH as well as on the websites of partner organizations, which will serve to promote these events to the public and the media and show our common commitment to building peace in Bosnia and insisting on respecting the rights of women and girls in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
