Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Banja Luka is attending the conference “Gender Equality in the Security Sector” today in Sarajevo. The conference will present the work of the Coordinating Committee of the Ministry of Security of BiH in connection with the implementation of the Law on Gender Equality of BiH, an analysis of the situation in the field of gender equality in the Ministry, and positive practices, experiences and challenges in that area will be discussed. The goal of the activity is the integration of the gender perspective in the democratic political processes of the security sector.
In particular, gender equality in security institutions, their position and contribution, as well as the way in which the rights of employees in security institutions can be improved in the future will be discussed. The conference is held within the framework of the project “Gender Perspective for Responsible Institutions in the Security Sector”, which is implemented by the Ministry of Security of BiH and the INFOHOUSE Foundation.
