The workshop “Women’s Conversations” in the textile industry, that we are implementing as part of the “Fashioning A Just Transition” project, will be held on August 29 at the company “Gloria Line”, which employs over 60 workers, and the entire process of producing socks takes place in its own production facility in Banja Luka.
Through stories with employees who sew, create, design and make, we open a space for honest conversation about the challenges, achievements, needs and possibilities of a fairer fashion and textile industry – which are “tailored” to people and the environment.
In this workshop:
- We present the project “Fashioning A Just Transition”
- We listen to the experiences and guidelines of employees
- We talk about changing fashion habits, trends, recycling, circular fashion, green transition…
- We discuss social justice, but also economic sustainability
- Together we seek answers to current issues in the textile industry
Gloria Line, which opens its doors to us for “women’s conversations”, was founded 30 years ago as a family business with the desire to offer a quality but affordable product made in the local community. Today, their socks are found in many international markets.
In April 2025, the Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly began work on the project “Fashioning A Just Transition” or in B/H/S translation “Krojenje pravedne tranzicije”, as one of the partner organizations of the international network “Clean Clothes Campaign”. The project aims to open up important topics concerning the textile industry.
Through a series of activities, we want to inspire changes that lead to a fairer fashion industry.
