Invitation to submit information for the Calendar of Activities on the occasion of the “Women’s Solidarity Week”

The daily struggle and advocacy for women’s human rights becomes even more intense as the month of March approaches, when International Women’s Day is celebrated. As in previous years, the Initiative Women Citizens for Constitutional Reform, the Women’s Network of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Network for Building Peace, with all their members join forces in solidarity and organize various events throughout BiH, and at the same time invite all those who, during the month of March, celebrate the March 8 – International Women’s Day to provide us with information about their events or initiatives that they organize. In the past years, members of these initiatives and networks have organized hundreds of activities throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina on the occasion of International Women’s Day, and we are continuing this practice this year as well.

All information will be published in the Calendar of Events on the occasion of the “Women’s Solidarity Week” – a special calendar published on the website of the Network for Building Peace, the Women’s Network of BiH, the Initiative Women Citizens for Constitutional Reform, as well as on the websites of partner organizations, which will be used for promotion of these events to the public and the media and to point out our common determination to insist on respecting the rights of women and girls in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Please provide information about events or initiatives no later than March 2, 2024, preferably via the following online form available at the following link:

We speak loudly and clearly about the experiences of women in the world of violence and wars and women’s resistance against violence and wars, the courage of activists and journalists who report from the front lines of wars, the invisibility of unpaid domestic work, the undervaluation of women’s paid work, the right to health care and available drugs for all women, obstetric violence, women’s political participation and the right to participate in every aspect of life, sexual harassment, discrimination, femicide, entrepreneurship, women’s education, but also education about women.

Let’s remember the unequal position of women in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the omission of women in historical, social and political life, and stand up clearly and loudly against it.
