Online Academy “Gender Equality in the EU Integration Process”

Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly (HCA) from Banja Luka is organizing the fourth online education in a row under title “Gender Equality in the EU Integration Process”. The activity is implemented in partnership with the Heinrich Böll Foundation.

The Academy will be held between May 26th and June 2nd and will include 4 zoom workshops lasting 2 hours and reading literature/watching videos during other days in the specified period. The goal of this activity is to build capacity among students from different cities of BiH to analyze, monitor and advocate for the improvement of women’s human rights during the integration of our country into the EU. The Online Academy will be organized for a group of about 15 participants, giving them answers to the questions: what is gender equality, how to be an active actor in public and political life and how to influence the ongoing processes of EU integration in BiH from a gender perspective. Although the training is intended primarily for the student population, all other interested parties are welcome to join us.

Through this online course, you will be guided by lecturer Dr. Midhat Izmirlija with the support of other trainers. Lectures will not be only theoretical. The transfer of knowledge will largely refer to personal experiences, knowledge exchange and as much mutual interaction as possible.

After the training, all those interested will have the opportunity to write papers on a given topic that will be published and presented to a wider audience. All published student papers on HCA internet platforms will be modestly rewarded. In this process, they will have support of mentor as well. In order to present student analysis and share their information and knowledge, students will also have the opportunity to plan their presentations through various initiatives with faculties, non-governmental organizations and journalists.

Everyone who goes through this training becomes part of our community – ALUMNI club, and depending on their personal interest, they have the opportunity to attend various events that we organize. In addition, students will have the opportunity to meet in person later in the year when we plan the annual meeting of the ALUMNI group. The group gathers all generations of students who have undergone this training.

If you are interested in the Online Academy, send us your information with an explanation of why you want to attend this training to the email address bilic@hcabl.org (Bojana Ilić).

We look forward to meeting you soon and to online learning!
